How to Install Chrome on Windows
To install the Google Chrome browser on Windows, follow these steps:
You will now be shown the Google Chrome Terms of Service. On this page, uncheck "Help make Google Chrome better by automatically sending usage statistics and crash reports to Google" and click the "Accept and Install" button to download the Google Chrome installer.
The ChromeSetup.exe file will now be downloaded. Once completed, click as indicated by the red arrow in the image below to start the installation program.
When you click the ChromeSetup.exe file, Windows will display a UAC prompt asking if you want to "allow this app to make changes to your device". Click the Yes button to proceed.
Google Chrome will now begin to install on your computer.
Once completed, Google Chrome will open automatically, and the Google Chrome icon will appear on your desktop which you can use to launch the program.
Now that Google Chrome has been installed on Windows, you can start it from the icon on the desktop or search for Chrome in the Start menu and launch it from there.
How to Uninstall Chrome Browser on Windows
To remove the Google Chrome browser installation from Windows, follow these steps:
Click on the Start button and type uninstall. When the option Add or Remove Programs appears, click on it.
The Apps & Features settings screen will now be displayed. Under Apps & Features, search for chrome as shown in the image below.
When Google Chrome is displayed as shown below, click the Uninstall button.
When you click Uninstall, Windows will prompt you again to confirm that you want to uninstall the Chrome installation. In this prompt, click the Uninstall button.
Windows will now display a UAC prompt asking if you want to "allow this app to make changes to your device". On this prompt click the Yes button to proceed.
Believe it or not, Google Chrome will now ask Are you sure you want uninstall Google Chrome. In this prompt, you can click the Uninstall button, but I would not check the "Also delete your browsing data" option as you may want your bookmarks and settings to remain intact if you decide to reinstall the browser again.
Once the Chrome browser uninstallation is complete, your default browser will open a survey asking for the reason you uninstalled the Chrome browser. You can simply close this screen. You can now close the Apps & Features settings screen.
