Lumigent upgrading SQL Server problem tracker

LUMIGENT TECHNOLOGIES ON Monday plans to release Log Explorer Version 3.0, which allows users to identify causes of problems in Microsoft SQL Server databases and recover data. The product uses the SQL Server transaction log to audit database activity and salvage data when traditional recovery techniques fail, according to Lumigent. Among the new features in Version 3.0 are the ability to view DDL (Data Definition Language) commands and identify or roll back schema and permission changes, BLOB data type support for recovering lost text and image data, and pre-indexing of large transaction logs for quicker problem resolution. Also, enterprises can install Log Explorer on multiple servers at one time. Log Explorer 3.0 supports Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 7.0 and costs $995 per server for a single copy of the Enterprise Edition release.
