MetroWerks hails dev tools for Java, C++
METROWERKS THIS WEEK is releasing a new version of its CodeWarrior Development Tools for Windows. The suite of tools provides an integrated development environment for C, C++, and Java applications, according to the company. Version 8 of CodeWarrior Development Tools for Windows includes a sophisticated project manager, customizable text editor, interactive debugger, and an ANSI/ICO/C/C++ compiler for building efficient code for smaller and faster applications, the company said. An API enables developers to plug in third-party tools. Versions are available for the Windows and Mac OS environments or for Windows separately. Version 8 for Windows is available for a pre-release pricing of $499 per license through May 31. The combined Windows-Mac OS offering costs $599 under the pre-release price plan.
