FileNet plans portal, content management integration

ENTERPRISE CONTENT MANAGEMENT (CM) vendor FileNet this week revealed a development strategy to integrate its CM offerings with portal products from companies such as BEA Systems and IBM. Costa Mesa, Calif.-based FileNet said the move is designed to offer enterprises full-strength CM capabilities without leaving standards-based portal frameworks. The company said it is currently developing a CM portlet, or portal application, for BEA’s WebLogic portal. The portlet will ship with the next release of FileNet’s Enterprise CM software, officials said. Also under development is a CM portlet for IBM’s WebSphere Portal Server. FileNet currently integrates with mySAP Enterprise Portal, Microsoft Sharepoint Portal, and the Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.5WS.
