BEA eyes mobile offering
Browser technology is key to product
BEA Systems is developing a mobile computing offering based on browser technology, the company confirmed on Thursday.
The product will feature connection technology allowing for information distribution between the device and the server and will support a disconnected mode. Bandwidth conservation is to be a focus of the effort. The company would not provide further comment on the product.
BEA’s focus has been on application servers and Java application development, with its WebLogic applications platform. Recently, the company spanned out into data integration with the announcement of its Liquid Data offering.
BEA will hold its BEA eWorld technology conference next week in Orlando, Fla.
