Organizing your Media Files in Windows 7
It is of utmost importance to organize the media files in any computer. Otherwise, you will have all your favourite music, video files in your computer, but, cant find out in the right moment.
There are two ways of organizing your media files. First one is through player interface, making them arranged in Artist wise, Album wise manner.
Second way is to organize through Windows explorer interface. The main benefit of the second way is that, in case you have format and re-install Windows 7, you can back up easily by just copying the “Music, “Videos” folders.

I will guide you through the second way here.
In your windows 7 taskbar, there is shortcut to “Library” icon by default:
Click it, it will bring up this Window:
By default, by double clicking your Music folder should look like this (Of course if you have saved the music files here. If you have saved in some other places, you can select them by single click, hold and click for multi select, press [ctrl] + [X] to cut them, come to music library, paste by pressing [ctrl]+[V] )
And your Videos library (or folder) should look like this:
Look at the top left of the Window, there will be three icons :
Clicking on the First Icon will bring this cascading menu to select how the files will be shown in this folder:
You can select the size as you like.
Clicking the Second icon will give you a preview pane with player control buttons:
You can play, pause, stop and even switch to WMP (by clicking the button right to the play button in preview pane).
Third button in the top right of the window is help button (not discussed here).
Now, Single click any file you want to change the attributes:
Look, the attributes are shown at the bottom of the Window. Right click it, and select “Properties“. This will bring this Window:
You can change the Title and all Media descriptive details from here.
You can Further arrange the files by clicking “Album and contributing Artist” by left clicking them:
If you right click over them, you will get an check on or off type cascading menu, you can check, those details you want to see:
