GT Nexus launches new logistics platform

OCEAN SHIPPING LOGISTICS vendor GT Nexus rolled out its next-generation enterprise offering Monday while expanding its reach into the supply-chain execution market. The new Enterprise Series 7 is a Web-hosted solution designed to help enterprises plan, procure, manage, optimize, and execute global logistics and supply-chain operations on a single platform. In addition, GT Nexus is launching a dedicated brand called GTN of its ocean transportation portal. This Web-based transaction platform — integrated with multiple ocean carriers representing approximately 40 percent of global capacity — encompasses more than 5,000 users worldwide. Early success delivering private networks for high-volume global logistics operations has positioned GT Nexus to attack the supply-chain execution market, said Tim Minahan, an analyst at Aberdeen Group. The enhanced platform offers a single point of command and control for execution, contract management, and performance management activities across global supply-chain operations, he added. Series 7 includes new air freight planning, supply-chain performance, and multi-modal freight products targeted toward Global 2000 companies that demand comprehensive solutions for cross-border supply chain execution. Products are designed to be deployed in private logistics networks, configured specifically for customers to connect them with all their global supply-chain partners, including suppliers, carriers, and forwarders.
