SOFTWARE DEVELOPER NETLEDGER, maker of the Oracle Small Business Suite, has signed on former Oracle executive Zach Nelson to fill its newly created COO position, the company said Tuesday. Nelson also becomes the company’s president, a title formerly held by NetLedger co-founder and CEO Evan Goldberg. NetLedger, in San Mateo, Calif., is a close partner of database and enterprise applications maker Oracle, whose chairman and CEO, Larry Ellison, contributed early funding to the small, five-year-old company and is NetLedger’s chairman and majority owner. NetLedger’s flagship product, the Oracle Small Business Suite, is aimed at companies with as many as 250 employees and includes features for accounting, employee, sales, and customer service management. Nelson will focus on NetLedger’s sales and marketing and day-to-day operations, according to a company spokeswoman. Most recently president and CEO of Network Associates subsidiary myCIO, Nelson was formerly Oracle’s vice president of worldwide marketing.
