FileNet unfurls P8 content management framework
ENTERPRISE CM (CONTENT management) vendor FileNet this week introduced a new product architecture designed to integrate CM, business process management, and application connectivity capabilities into a single framework. In an effort to streamline data management efforts, the FileNet P8 architecture uses a single repository, interface, and API set for developers, according to company officials in Costa Mesa, Calif. FileNet P8 consists of four pre-packaged suites: The Business Process Manager for automating complex processes; the Content Manager for sharing multiple content forms in a secure environment; the Web Content Manager for the creation, approval, and publishing of Web content and documents; and the Image Manager for accessing images, faxes, e-mails, and rich media. The integrated architecture aims to bolster scalability and application integration, company officials said.
