IBM bolsters WebSphere Commerce search

IBM ON MONDAY announced expanded search capabilities for its WebSphere Commerce platform with the integration of search and navigation technology from Littleton, Mass.-based EasyAsk. The advanced search tools are designed to turn basic commerce-related search queries into revenue-generating opportunities by improving buyer conversion rates and ease of use and increasing order size, according to EasyAsk officials. In addition, EasyAsk for IBM WebSphere Commerce will allow enterprises to add marketing and merchandising information to the presentation of search results to expand buying opportunities. IBM officials said powerful search capabilities are a critical component of a successful online commerce site.
